I recently bought a used Honda Pilot from here and had a great experience! I worked with Brian who was great about not pressuring me into anything and answered all my questions while I inspected and test drove the car. I had asked to do a pre purchase inspection before buying the car, but they instead asked me to buy the car and pay $150 for a "cool-down period" where I could return the car for all my money back in two days if I didn't like it or the pre-purchase inspection turned something up. I agreed without realizing that there was also a $500 restocking fee if I wanted to the return the car later. I didn't really appreciate that, but when it became clear after the pre-purchase inspection that the AC didn't work, I contacted Honda of Oakland, and they immediately were willing to diagnose the issue for me for no charge (normally almost a $300 service), they also fixed the problem (replaced the compressor) at no charge! AC is normally a money pit to fix! Additionally, I was very impressed with the service department. My service advisor (Hong Nong) gave me a very clear explanation of what might be wrong, how they would try to diagnose/fix it, and what the timeline would be. He was also flexible with me when I ran into traffic and showed up shortly after their closing time to pick up my car. Overall a great experience and would definitely recommend buying a car here.

My car is running well and I feel that no matter how old my car gets , I will still bring it to the Honda shop so they can put in the right parts so I feel comfortable and not feel like I have been robbed of over charges!

I'm writing this review because they texted me several times to give them one. We have bought our cars from Honda of Oakland for 15 years and they have only been serviced there. They do good solid work, unfortunately at a slower pace than the previous owners. They can take all day to do a small thing sometimes and want to be able to keep the car over night on a Friday which is not ok when I bring the car in at 9 am. This is the second time I have had to call and remind them I need my car and when will it be done. Both times the shuttle bus service has stopped at 3 pm for some reason when they are open until 6pm. These are small inconveniences but not really when you pay for a service and expect communication on the level it was previously. The old Honda of Oakland left them big shoes to fill. It is still a good service and they do the job well. It's just little the things, otherwise it would be 5 stars.

Even without an appointment, I can trust things will get done! The staff is kind, professional, and courteous. I appreciate how well they treat their customers.

I absolutely love when I pull.in and see John he is extremely professional and super friendly, he explains the process every step of the way and gets you in and out as quickly as possible. I Love Oakland of Honda service and it's the employees like John who makes it top notch service. I purchased an extended service warranty when I bought the car so I’ve used Honda Oakland exclusively for 8 years. Never had any issues with their work. They replaced two batteries under warranty no hassles. Sometimes in the past the wait times were half a day for an oil change creating a lot of afternoon downtime for me but most recently it was about two hours without an appointment so that’s to be expected and quite an improvement. The operation appears clean and efficient. I’m a satisfied customer.
