This week a series of unforseen events has had me come into the Honda Service Center more than I want to. I am use to the friendly staff I have come to know from intervals of my six month oil changes; however, Victor Martinez at Honda of Oakland's newer friendly face does not just fit right in but has added to staff with an energy and charisma that you didn't realize you needed, almost like when a baby is born into a family that hasn't had any excitement for years. No disrespect, but when your coming in for your car to get serviced three days in a row for things unrelated and your like, on the bright side... "hey Victor what's good?" You understand how much hospitality, honesty and charisma and great customer service go a long way! I wrote this review to say that people are not replaceable. The staff at Honda of Oakland are already top notch and they have certainly taught the newbie well. We are in an age where financial uncertainly is common and I need for whom ever has the ability to make decisions to know that your staff's stability and respect from Honda corporate should remain in tact to allow them to continue to support their families and loved ones. I took my Honda Fit in for service today and was thoroughly impressed from start to finish. From the moment I walked in, all of the staff were warm, professional, and knowledgeable — clearly a team that takes pride in excellent service. Porters gave clear instructions upon drop off, no confusion on where to go. John J. was my advisor, offered to get me a ride to work, and delivered my vehicle on time as promised. Rodrigo, who was my driver today, is very kind and a great conversationalist! The coffee machine was a nice bonus for my morning drop off :) Thank you for the excellent service!

I have been going to Oakland Honda for 15 years, even making the trip at times when I lived in other parts of the Bay. Like yes, I crossed Bay Area bridges to select their service, specifically. Those of you who live here know: that's dedication! The Oakland dealership is where I bought my Honda Fit. They take care with my car, and they treat me well as part of a family. They remain true to the Oakland ethos of building community. They build trust to encourage your loyalty over the long term, rather than trying to squeeze every penny out of you in the short term. And the philosophy works because that is where I will go for my next car! My only complaint is they never brought back the freshly baked cookies and fresh popcorn that they always had in the guest lounge in BC (before covid) times. The cookies were the highlight of every oil change. Now they have chemically laden muffins in plastic wrappers. Ew, won't touch those things. I mean, I understand the wrappers with our heightened hygiene awareness post-pandemic. But maybe make a deal with a local bakery, and wrap in eco paper? They do have a fancy machine with free coffee drinks in the lounge now, though! :)

Victor was awesome! However, the service cost was insanely prohibitive???

I had a very easy time scheduling an appointment for the replacement of a recalled fuel pump. Hong, who provided the service, was very helpful and communicative and the repair was done in ~3 hours. They offer a shuttle back to wherever you need to go, in case you came out of your way. They also provided an estimate for suggested maintenance work, but without any pushiness or sales tactics - just their professional recommendation. I would definitely come back to Honda of Oakland!

Max helped me with a tricky repair. He was helpful, friendly, and stuck to his quote. During inspection the tech found other issues, which isnt a surprise for my old car. However, Max informed me of the issues and provided a simple cost estimate for the work, so I know what to expect. Thx.
