Available in sedan and hatchback body styles, the 2021 Honda Civic remains one of America’s most popular compact cars. Civic owners appreciate the model’s combination of outstanding performance and excellent fuel efficiency. Another feather in the Civic’s cap is its reliability, which means you’ll be less likely to need to bring it in for repairs at the Piedmont Honda dealer.
Following Honda’s recommended maintenance schedule will help keep your Honda Civic running efficiently and safely. Whether you drive a new Civic or a model that’s been around the block more than a few times, bring it to the Honda of Oakland Service Center, the Honda dealer serving Piedmont, for the area’s best maintenance service.
According to Honda’s maintenance schedule, your Civic’s first scheduled maintenance visit should take place at 7,500 miles. We’ll look at some important maintenance milestones, so you’ll know what to expect.
An oil change is probably the most important maintenance service. Our service technicians will change your Civic’s oil and oil filter during every scheduled maintenance visit. They’ll flush out the old engine oil and replace it with new oil, which will protect the engine from wear. A brake inspection is also part of this visit. The technicians will also inspect the brakes, lubricate the throttle linkage, check and replace the fluids, inspect and rotate the tires, and check the tire air pressure.
The services performed during this visit will be repeated when your Honda Civic reaches 22,500, 37,500, 52,500, 67,500 and 82,500 miles.
Your Honda Civic’s 15,000-mile maintenance visit includes the services listed above, plus several additional services. They’ll replace the oil drain plug and gasket, lubricate the chassis and hinges, rotate and balance the wheels, replace the spark plugs (if necessary), replace the AC filter, service the transmission, re-torque the driveshaft, and replace the windshield wipers.
The service technicians will also inspect the air conditioning and heating system, clutch pedal, undercarriage, lights and lamps, shocks and struts, parking brake, brake linings and hoses, fuel system, steering and differential oil.
The services performed during this visit will be repeated when your Honda Civic reaches 45,000, 75,000 and 105,000 miles.
At 30,000 miles, the service technicians will perform all the services listed above. Additionally, they’ll check the battery and clean the cables, replace the differential oil, lubricate the wheel bearings, service the PCV valve, and lubricate the propeller shaft.
The service techs will also check the air filter elements, fuel lines, fuel tank cap gasket, transfer case oil, and propeller shaft flex coupling.
The services performed during this visit will be repeated when your Honda Civic reaches 60,000, 90,000 and 120,000 miles.
